| Who we treat, What we treat, & How we treat Dr. Redlich provides Sports Medicine and Musculoskeletal Care to patient- athletes of all kind – Recreational, Competitive, Elite athletes – with all different levels of interest – from the young pediatric patient to the middle aged “Weekend Warrior” type, to the older senior or geriatric patient who wishes to remain active and fit. Dr. Redlich takes the time to address the problem whether it began just two hours ago or two years ago. His diagnostic and therapeutic approach involves taking a comprehensive look at how the body functions in relation to a particular injury or complaint. This may involve providing treatments including: prescribed activity modification, training error correction, stretches & home exercises, physical therapy presciptions, medications, injections or fluid drainage, manual medicine, and even complementary treatments. The sum of all the parts make up the whole body & often a pain, weakness, or other complaint may be due in part to an issue elsewhere from where the symptoms are located. Dr. Redlich takes a detailed history and exam, when appropriate, orders relevant tests such as Xrays, CT scans, MRIs, labwork, etc. He has a diversified background having medical experience in Occupational Medicine / Work Injuries as well as board certification in Family Medicine, in addition to Sports Medicine. This helps as we are all really “athletes”, whether we are physically active in our sports activity, work activity, or just in our daily life. Additionally, interest in being able to communicate with other key members of the fitness team in order to “speak the same language”, Dr. Redlich gained a background as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer, beyond his prior experience as a fitness clinician. Most sports and musculoskeletal injuries (estimated 80-90%) do not require surgery. Whether it’s nagging shin splints, chronically sore shoulder or back, or recent ankle sprain, or newly acquired concussion . . . Dr. Redlich can “tackle” your problem. Much of the success of an athlete staying injury-free and returning from one, involves the collaboration among the different medical, athletic, sports, and fitness team members. |
| We are Recreational Athletes . . . Ourselves Dr. Redlich – himself enjoys fitness and staying active – having engaged in many of the recreational sporting activities of the patients he treats . . . from general fitness via working out at the gym, golf, tennis, to having run the NY & NJ marathons, finished several regional sprint triathlons, and having played baseball, basketball, soccer, and karate in his youth. When not engaged in his work as a Sports Physician and Occupational Physician, Dr. Redlich enjoys spending his time with his wife and two young children - playing outside, watching football, attending Rutgers games. You will see him at the local gym or at a race trying to practice what he preaches. |
| Some Honorable Mention Dr. Redlich has had the honor to have been named a Top Sports Medicine Family Doctor by Consumer’s Research Council of America, Health System Award for Commitment to the Sports Medicine Field, American Medical Society of Sports Medicine - Sports Medicine Scholarship Award. He received the Chief Resident Award & Resident of the Year awards during his training.
